Medway Council has reassured bus pass holders that there is no need to panic if their new pass gets stuck in the post. Passes for the over sixties and people with disabilities are being renewed automatically and sent out to current pass holders. While many have already been received and most of them are expected to reach people in good time, there is always the possibility that some could be delayed in the post. To cope with that possibility, the council has agreed with bus companies that the old passes will continue to be accepted in Medway during April. With arrangements for companion passes changing in April, letters have been sent to people with companion passes telling them what their options are. Most pass holders throughout the country will be receiving a new pass in April as from that date they will generally allow off-peak travel on any local bus service throughout England. The new passes will all follow a nationally-recognised design.
