The Central Theatre’s jazz cellar plays host to a fine percussionist, bandleader and vibes player on Tuesday, 22 April. Roan Kearsey Lawson has been playing professionally since the age of 18, and has been credited by artists such as Don Rendell and Lee Gibson. In The Modern Jazz Trio, Roan is joined for the evening by John Myhill on guitar and Harry Cook on double bass. Composer, arranger and performer John Myhill has been honing his skills since the 70s, working with John Dankworth among many others. Harry Cook has recently supported American great Jean Toussaint and currently plays in Paul Booth’s Harbour Jazz Orchestra.
