Jobseekers Allowance

This allowance is dealt with by Jobcentre Plus

Jobcentre Plus details  can be found on the following website: (www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/cms.asp?Page=/Home/Customers/WorkingAgeBenefits/497) or Jobcentre and is paid if:

  • you are capable of working;
  • you are available for work;
  • you are actively seeking work.

A claim can be made if you are:

  • under 65 (for men) or under 60 (for women);
  • not working, or working on average less than 16 hours a week.
