From 1 April 2014, all under-16s will also be able to swim for free at Medway Park, Strood Sports Centre, Hundred of Hoo Sports Centre, Splashes Leisure Pool and The Strand. This is a new scheme thanks to an extra £60,000 investment by Medway Council.

To take up the offer, residents will need proof that they live in Medway and will be able to do this with a free Medway City Card.

All under-11s and those over-60 will need the card to take part in free swimming and can get one for free by applying for it online at www.medwaycitycard.co.uk, or by completing a form available from leisure centres.

Free swimming for Under 16s using the city card is available for all sports centre sessions marked Public Swimming and Free Swimming. Please note, all other sessions are chargeable.
