Notice of improvement works

Gillingham library will be undergoing major building works, starting Monday, 27 February 2012 and lasting for approximately 6 weeks. The library will remain open but some some areas will have limited access during this time.  We apologise for any inconvienance.

Facilities include:

  • photocopiers (black and white and colour);
  • fax;
  • a quiet study room;
  • free public access computers;
  • plasma screens;
  • printing and scanning facilities;
  • a lift;
  • a hearing loop; 
  • disabled access;
  • payment by credit and debit card
  • Medway Council Contact Point;
  • freephone for council services;
  • public car parking is just a minute's walk away.

Stock includes:

  • books;
  • graphic novels;
  • quick reads;
  • DVDs and Blu-ray discs;  
  • console games (Wii, XBox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo DS);
  • spoken word cassettes and CDs;
  • books in large print;
  • books in languages other than English;
  • language courses on CD;
  • free three-week loan of energy meters.

Additional services

We supply recycling bags, dog poop bags, issue visitor's parking vouchers; and we sell memory sticks and earbud headphones.
