Roald Dahl's children's books are known for for their
unsentimental, often very dark humour. Some of his notable

Enormous Crocodile, The Witches, and The
BFG.
6. Sue Bentley
Sue Bentley is a great cat lover and author of the

third Children's Laureate. Although best known for his work in

Jeremy Strong is well known for his laugh-out-loud

9. J.K. Rowling
J.K Rowling is the author of the Harry Potter series that
captured the imaginations of both young and old. The series of
seven fantasy books chronicles the adventures of the adolescent
wizard Harry Potter and his friends in their quest to overcome
the evil dark wizard Lord Voldemort.
10. Lucy Daniels
Lucy Daniels is the author of the Animal Ark series, as
well as Animal Ark Pets, Jess the Border Collie,
Dolphin Diaries, Nine Lives, and the Perfect
Ponies trilogy. She has written more than 70 books.
