Thanks to support from the Canterbury
Archaeological Trust, schools in Medway can now borrow a CATKIT
from the Guildhall
A CATKIT is a carefully assembled resource box full of genuine
historic items for handling in the classroom. A typical selection
- animal bones
- Iron Age and Romano-British pottery
- building materials
- fine china fragments
- a clay pipe.
A booklet is included with descriptions of all objects and
suggestions for activities to try in the classroom. More

How to borrow a CATKIT
Medway schools can obtain a CATKIT, on loan for an agreed
period, in two ways:
- you can book a museum outreach session and the box
will be delivered at the same time
- you can arrange with the museum to pick up and return the
box yourself by phoning 01634 332900.
