Museum outreach
Any school in Medway is able to
book the Guildhall Museum outreach service. Most of the
term
programme of taught sessions is available in the classroom,
complete with historic objects and other resources.
The service is designed to be flexible, but booking two
hour-long sessions per morning works well.
Bringing objects into school gives teachers the option to focus
in depth on a particular subject. Roman and Victorian
days are popular.
Alternatively, although sessions work best with one class at a
time, a mix of subjects over the course of a day is possible
to ensure that one visit can cover more than one year
group.
The outreach service is available only to schools within the
geographical area covered by Medway Council.
