Sports development

Medway Council’s Sports Development and 2012 Team strives to promote Medway's rich sporting heritage and great future.

Its major focuses are to:

  • encourage more people to participate in sport;
  • ensure the residents of Medway have every opportunity to succeed;
  • Build Medway's reputation as a centre of sporting excellence
  • To maximise the benefits of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games for the people of Medway.

The team works with national governing bodies of sport, local clubs, schools and other organisations to promote participation for all, to champion excellence and to support the provision of safe, good quality services.
