Medway Secondary School Games
The
Medway Secondary School Games is an exciting multi-sport programme
of events run throughout the school year.
Open to all Medway secondary schools and invitational external
schools, the scheme is organised by Medway Council's 2012 and
Sports Development Team with the support of governing bodies of
sport, local sports clubs, leisure facilities and school sport
partnership.
Prizes are awarded at each event and scores are collated through
an overall league. At the end of the year the winning boys' and
girls' school receive a perpetual trophy.
A key emphasis of the Medway Secondary School Games is enjoyable
participation and respect within a competitive environment and a
fair play award is presented at each event.
The Medway Secondary School Games aim to:
- encourage a fit and healthy lifestyle;
- improve social and communication skills and working as a
team;
- encourage children to develop and learn physical skills;
- teach children important life skills;
- provide a safe and fun activity for participation.
