Summer Reading Challenge

Animal agentsAnimal Agents

If you're looking for something fun and free to keep the kids occupied during the summer holidays, the Summer Reading Challenge is just the thing.

The challenge is for four to 12-year-olds, and is available in all 16 libraries in Medway. The theme for summer 2017 will be Animal Agents.

Children are encouraged to borrow and read six library books, of their choice, during the summer break. After reading each book they receive a reward, finishing after the sixth book with a medal and personalised Animal Agents certificate.

This year's challenge will run from Saturday, 15 July to Saturday, 16 September 2017.

To celebrate this year's theme, Medway's Libraries will be hosting a wide range of events throughout the summer.

To sign up, visit your local Medway library.

Teen reading challenge

There is also a reading challenge for 13 to 16-year-olds where they have a chance to win a Kindle Fire tablet, a year's gym membership and new books. Winners will be drawn at random from all those who complete the challenge. Sign up in your local library.
