Medway Big Ride

The new look Medway Big Ride took place on Saturday, 17 June 2017 as part of the Medway in Flames celebrations.

The Big Ride is designed to encourage residents to get on their bikes, becoming more physically active in an enjoyable and safe environment and is linked to Medway Cycle Action Plan and works in partnership with A Better Medway Active Medway Cycle Groups programme. The Medway Big Ride will return in June 2018 as part of National Bike Week.

The Big Ride event at Medway Park offered a busy programme of free cycling-themed activities.

Free attractions included:

  • Children's races around the Medway Park track
  • Free wheeling around the track
  • Family treasure trail with teddy bear prize

  • BMX and parkour stunt show
  • Skateboarding workshops and displays
  • Ride around our pump track

New for 2017: Medway Big Ride Together

This year we introduced group rides - supported by guide riders - which started from sites across Medway during the morning. The aim was to encourage people to discover Medway's network of cycle routes.

Evans RIDE IT Road Sportives

 

Evans teamed up with Medway Council to bring RIDE IT to the Medway Big Ride Cycling Festival.Sportive cyclist Medway Big Ride

The sportive routes started from Medway Park and took riders on a tour of the Kent countryside heading east towards Faversham then south into the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
