Junior Sportperson of the Year

Junior Sportsperson of the Year  - Sponsored by Bubble and Scruff

This category is open to individuals aged 17 years or younger on 1 January 2016.


Gold - Miri Taylor - Football Miri Taylor Junior Sportsperson of the Year

Miri wears the number 35 shirt for Chelsea Ladies and is the youngest player to ever play for their first team. 

It’s been a fantastic two years for her.  In that time she has captained England under 15s, played for the under 17s and been on the reserve list for the under 18 World Cup.  She made her Chelsea reserve debut a year ahead of schedule, winning man of the match in the process, and has appeared on Champions League team sheets.


Silver - Madi Rowlands - Skiing

Madi qualified for the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in both halfpipe and slopestyle. She gained Team GB’s first ever gold medal on snow in the halfpipe and went on to win a bronze medal in the slopestyle.  In March 2016 she was also named Sky Sportswoman of the month and was a finalist for the prestigious Olympic Piotr Nurowski Award.  Madi continued her season by gaining two top ten results at the World Halfpipe and Slopestyle Championships.


Bronze - Molly Harvey - Judo

Molly lives and breathes judo.  She is ranked GB number one in the 15-17 cadet age group and the 18-21 junior age group and is ranked senior number two.  Molly has won five bronze cadet world ranking medals in the last two years, one of which she won after moving up a weight division.  Molly moves up to junior category next year and will be joining the Olympic 2020 qualifying cycle.
