Badminton world champions' visit

Badminton world champions Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms were in Medway on Sunday, 20 April and became the latest sporting stars to visit Medway. The pair were at the Medway Badminton Association Centre as part of a road show with their sponsors Carlton. The Commonwealth Games badminton gold medallists were on hand to play against 120 of the Medway Badminton Association’s players and speed competitions were held enabling some of the association’s members to win equipment. |

England coach Mark Burgess also attended and took the opportunity to look at the Centre, which forms part of Medway’s bid to host a pre-Games training camp.
Hilary Athawes of the Medway Badminton Association, said, “It was an exciting event because it gave our juniors the opportunity to play against two of the very best.”
