Medway athletes at 2012 announcement

On 14 March, three members of Medway’s Jumpers Trampoline Club attended a key London 2012 announcement. Lord Seb Coe was announcing the appointment of the first sponsors of London 2012. Lloyds TSB has been unveiled as the Games’ first official sponsor and are promising a huge £80million pound injection into the Olympics. London 2012 is delighted with the announcement. Martin Laws, National Technical Trampoline Chair, and Head Coach of Jumpers was at the unveiling with two of his hand nurtured world class athletes. Gary Smith was Great Britain’s representative at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and Jason Plowman is a member of the Great Britain squad in double mini trampoline. |

All three were on hand to lend their support as well as to provide a spectacular trampoline display alongside rhythmic gymnastics ribbons and men’s artistic gymnastics on the pummel horse. With the beautiful background of the London Eye and the Houses of parliament the display went on for a full three hours in the spring sunshine while the world's press from CNN to BBC all filmed in succession. |
