Olympic ambassador in Six Nations win
|
A 30 points to 0 victory over Wales in its final game on 17 March handed the England women's team the Six Nations title. The win meant the women completed the Grand Slam for the second year running. The clean sheet meant they did it all while only conceding 12 points- all in the second half against a strong second-placed French side. The England women's team sat alone at the top of the Six Nations table going in to the final game, having beaten France 38-12 in the fourth match. |

England had emerged as the favourite to win the Six Nations title after beating France but still needed to beat Wales at Taffs Wells in the final game to be sure.
Medway's Olympic Ambassador Rachael Burford played for the England women's team in all five matches and despite not getting on the score sheet, she was a valuable member of the succesful team.
Medway Council congratulates Rachael and the rest of her England colleagues on the title and Grand Slam victories and would like to wish them all the best for next season.
