Wristbands for Medway pupils

Paralympic champion Danny Crates was at Featherby School on Tuesday 23 January 2007 with Bob Dimond, Medway’s Manager for the 2012 Games, to meet the pupils and hand out wristbands to commemorate Medway: 2012 Days to the Olympics.

Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community Services, Cllr Howard Doe, said: “Being part of this great sporting event is an exciting opportunity for everyone in Medway and especially those of our young people who could be the stars of the future.

“The wristbands are a tangible symbol of those future ambitions for Medway’s school children.

“We are serious about getting Medway on the Olympic map. This is an opportunity for everyone to take pride in Medway and for us to show that we are the emerging major city of the Thames Gateway.”
