The visitors from Foshan, Medway's new twin town, were shown around the Black Lion Leisure Centre in Gillingham, which is to be transformed into a regional centre of sporting excellence called Medway Park.

They were also given a presentation about Medway 2012's other activities, including its work to foster future Olympians and its ambitions to host international teams as they prepare for the London Games.

Before leaving, they were treated to a demonstration at Jumpers Rebound Centre by one of the Medway 2012 elite athletes, GB trampolinist Jason Plowman.

The delegation from Foshan visited Medway as part of the effort to forge a formal twinning bond.

They included Zhang Jian Li, Foshan's Director of Sport, who was eager to work with Medway 2012 to organise international sports exchanges between the Foshan and Medway.
