The visitors from Foshan, Medway's new twin town, were shown around the Black Lion Leisure Centre in Gillingham, which is to be transformed into a regional centre of sporting excellence called Medway Park. They were also given a presentation about Medway 2012's other activities, including its work to foster future Olympians and its ambitions to host international teams as they prepare for the London Games. |
Before leaving, they were treated to a demonstration at Jumpers Rebound Centre by one of the Medway 2012 elite athletes, GB trampolinist Jason Plowman.

The delegation from Foshan visited Medway as part of the effort to forge a formal twinning bond. They included Zhang Jian Li, Foshan's Director of Sport, who was eager to work with Medway 2012 to organise international sports exchanges between the Foshan and Medway. |
