Medway Council's Sports Development Team is embarking on the most comprehensive audit of sports clubs ever undertaken in Medway. The London 2012 Olympics, the creation of Medway Park on the site of the existing Black Lion Leisure Centre and the attraction of world-class sporting events to Medway are all increasing the profile of sport in the area. |

With this in mind, the council wants to conduct an audit of every local sports club, from individual sports teams to large, multi-sport, multi-team organisations.
This will provide a true picture of both the good work that local sports clubs do and the number of people taking advantage of these sporting opportunities and participating in regular, organised activity in Medway.
The information will be used to:
tailor the training and support offered to local clubs and coaches;
open up funding streams to develop qualification opportunities for local clubs and coaches;
create an online directory of Medway sports clubs, giving clubs free publicity;
unlock funding for sports facility improvements in Medway.
