Top-class riding centre boosts Medway's plans

Medway Park will be hosting the 2010 Modern Pentathlon World Cup. To help with the support of the event Medway has teamed up with Callum Park Equestrian Centre. Medway Park is one of only nine venues in the UK to be listed as an official pre-Games training camp venue for modern pentathlon. |

Because it has no permanent equestrian facilities, Callum Park (www.callumpark.com) will be available to athletes training in Medway and will complement the rest of their training experience. One of the region's leading specialist equestrian centres, it offers:
an indoor riding arena with waxed competition surface and spectator gallery;
two outdoor riding arenas with professional sand/fibre surfaces;
an underground irrigation system;
a 3.5 acre grass jumping arena;
two miles of bridleway and gallops;
a range of 40 horses and ponies;
parking for more than 200 cars and lorries;
stalls and stabling for 40 horses and ponies;
60 acres of paddocks and turn-out;
a cafeteria;
a tack shop;
eight fully-qualified riding instructors.
Callum Park provides riding tuition to thousands of beginners and experienced riders in and around Medway and will now try to expand its facilities as a result of this venture. “We are delighted that Medway Council wants to involve us in its plans,” said John McGee, Callum Park's Managing Director.
