Holcombe Hockey Club also boasts one of the world’s most advanced facilities but does not currently appear in the official guide because its state-of-the-art pitches are sand rather than water-based. Callum Park is not an approved pre-Games training camp venue but it will be assisting in the plans for the 2010 Modern Pentathlon World Cup

Accommodation and a medical centre exclusively for athletes can be provided at the Universities at Medway campus, situated 2,297 feet (700m) from Medway Park.

The campus has 350 rooms available, 150 of which are newly built. Every room has full disabled access and 20 rooms are designed especially for wheelchair users. By 2011 there should be an additional 450 rooms available.

In addition to the individual rooms, the universities have a wide range of meeting and seminar rooms with integrated information, communications, video and audio technology.

Medway campus can offer fully-equipped specialist sports therapy, sports massage and sports science facilities, fully-functional X-ray and ultrasound equipment, an operating theatre and dedicated nursing wards, if required. It also has a fully-equipped cafeteria.

All the featured facilities are located within six miles (10km) of each other. These two charts show the distances, first in miles then in kilometres, between the main facilities on the map below.
