Sara Parfett made waves in 2007. In undoubtedly her best season, she qualified for the National Championships and broke in to the top 10 national rankings in four events.
She qualified for the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) National Championships for the second consecutive year, swam the qualifying time for four events and competed in the:
50m freestyle;
100m freestyle;
200m freestyle;
100m butterfly.
Sara currently holds four top 10 national rankings in the girls UK 15 year age group. She is ranked:
third for 50m butterfly in a 25m pool;
sixth for 50m butterfly in a 50m pool;
third for 50m breaststroke in a 25m pool;
sixth for 50m breaststroke in a 50m pool.
The Black Lion Swimming Club (www.blacklionsc.org.uk) captain represented the south-east schools in the English Schools Championships in Manchester, where she was part of the girls 200m medley team that won the bronze medal.
Sara then competed in the Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN) junior international 3km open water swim held at the Royal Albert docks. This was a junior event held to coincide with the senior Marathon Swimming World Cup. She finished 12th in a strong international field, an excellent result in only her third open water race.
