Medway Mini Youth Games

The Mini Youth Games (MYG) is a multi-sport scheme running throughout the school year, open to all Medway primary schools.

The scheme is organised by the Medway Council's Sports Development Team, with the support of the governing bodies of sport, local sports clubs and leisure facilities. Prizes are awarded at each event and points are gained towards the overall MYG title.

At each event points are awarded to each school for simply taking part. This is the main emphasis of the MYG – enjoyable participation, so the most prestigious prize at any event is always the fair play award.

The fair play league runs alongside the main scheme.

Schools are allocated a fair play score by officials and event staff that counts towards an overall fair play ranking for each event and over the whole year.

It is crucial that young people are introduced to sport in a friendly, positive environment and that they are encouraged to accept victory and defeat with equal grace.

It is important that they learn to show consideration and respect towards opponents, team mates and officials, as well as to the rules and conventions of the different sports.
