Athlete Development Programme

The Athlete Development Programme is being established to support Medway athletes at county and regional level and will assist them in their chase for sporting honours.

It is open to athletes aged 16-21 years who represent Kent, or athletes aged 16-24 years who represent Kent and the south-east and who also compete in their governing body's national competitions.

Each athlete will qualify for:

  • financial assistance to help with equipment and competition costs;

  • advice from the UK's top athletes and sports scientists at the University of Kent at Medway;

  • free off-peak access to Medway's sports facilities.

A list of these sports is available on the Sport England website at www.sportengland.org/index/get_active/find_the_sport_for_you.htm.
