Who really influences the publishers?
The proprietor of Sandwich Bookshop, Louise Vance, will be giving this talk at Chatham library on Thursday 22 Jan 2009, starting at 7pm. Louise has a lot of experience in the book industry and works very closely with publishers. She will give a potted history of the last 25 years and the major changes that publishers have experienced as an industry and where they might be heading.

Re-register with the library service
The library service's current computer system, Galaxy, holds all the book and customer records. In January and February 2009, it will be installing a new system called Spydus that will make the catalogue and the online services (such as renewing and reserving items) faster and easier to use.

All the information on Galaxy must be correct before it is transferred to the new system, so the library is asking all its customers to check the information it holds. Please ask a member of staff for more information.

	Information online The library service subscribes to a number of online databases. You will find that you can access many from home (if you are a member of the library) by going to www.medway.gov.uk/libraries.

KnowUK - Provides key information about the people, institutions and organisations of the United Kingdom.
