Community Safety Partnership TV (CSP TV) was launched in March 2007 as a new, inventive way for the partners to keep the public informed about all the work that is being achieved to reduce crime, build safer communities and make people feel safer.
CSP TV is a network of 14 plasma screens located throughout Medway providing a direct route of communication to the heart of Medway’s communities with screen locations ranging from shopping centres, sports centre receptions to schools.
The network combines locally filmed footage with national campaign material and daily news, sport and weather bulletins; this piece of footage shows a Medway Trading Standards advert about underage sales being created in a local store that hosts a screen.
The partnership is formed of Medway Council, Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and private sector organisations. For further information about the partnership and to view the CSP TV media player visit www.medway.gov.uk/communitysafety.

Finding ways to do our bit to help tackle climate change is at the heart of the website Medway: Our Planet. As students at Byron Primary School in Gillingham, found out learning about the way our weather is changing can be fun.
Funded through the Youth Opportunity Fund and the EU-funded environmental stewardship project, the website was officially launched at the school, where students had the chance to discuss and learn about climate change.
They were joined by Portfolio Holder for Customer First and Corporate Services Cllr Janice Bamber and Mayor of Medway Cllr Val Goulden. This video shows you what happened that day and explains a little more about Medway: Our Planet.
In this bulletin: Follow 24hours on election day to see what it takes to organise a local election in 22 wards in Medway.
Hundreds of staff are involved in making sure that voters get the opportunity to cast their votes. This video shows behind the scenes as Medway Council organises the 2007 local elections on Thursday, 3 May 2007.
In this bulletin: If you like something that is a little bit different, a tad offbeat then you will love Dedicated Followers of Fashion, a new temporary exhibition at the Guildhall Museum in Rochester High Street. Why? Because it’s an exhibition that lets you take part - you can try things on and have a laugh.
Dedicated Followers of Fashion tells the story of fashion in a nutshell with an emphasis on street fashion in the 19th and 20th centuries. The exhibition will be on display until the end of August. More than 6,000 people have already checked it during the first month of opening.
Visitors are invited to discover the history of street fashions, hairstyles, false teeth, spectacles, cosmetics, body shaping and other fashion-related topics.
Underpinning the exhibition are some truly iconic 20th century fashion items. Exhibits such as flares, mini-skirts, platform shoes, thigh boots and exotic hats will bring back fond memories of the past.
At the exhibition you can also get dressed-up, parade on a specially built catwalk and have your image projected live on to two large screens. Lighting effects and a cool sound system will quickly dispel any notions that museums are dusty boring places. Or you can just stand back and watch as others try out the exhibition. The choice is yours.
Items featured in the exhibition are from the museum’s own modest fashion collection with extra items on loan from local collectors, Maidstone Museum and Bentlif Art Gallery, Dartford Borough Museum and the British Dental Association Museum in London. Ivory dentures from the 19th century, a false eye and an armadillo handbag are just a few of the bizarre fashion accessories on display.
In this bulletin: Six teams, offering health, social care and learning disability services across Medway have been created, thanks to the combined efforts of Medway Council and Medway Primary Care Trust.
The teams are based in three healthy living centres - Lordswood, Rainham and Rochester. They are a mix of district nurses and care managers, as well as physiotherapists, occupational therapists and more.
Single team working means better assessments, better information sharing, better communication, quicker referrals and a dramatic reduction in duplication. Patients can be referred to these teams by their GP, another health or social care professional, social worker or they can refer themselves.
