Buses to Medway Maritime Hospital

Several bus companies have services that go to and from Medway Maritime Hospital.

At Medway Maritime Hospital the bus stop is positioned about 90m to the right of the main reception of the hospital. Within the main entrance reception there is an information screen giving details of bus departures from the hospital.

If you're travelling from Chatham Waterfront bus station you'll have to go to Platform B10 for the 116 service and 121 (on Sundays, the 132 departs from Platform B9).

Arriva 

The following Arriva buses serve Medway Maritime Hospital

The 116 (pdf 66KB) service offers a 30-minute frequency Monday to Saturday to and from Medway Maritime Hospital. The route continues through Chatham, Chatham Maritime, Gillingham, Twydall, Rainham, Parkwood/Wigmore, Hempstead Valley and Hemspstead.

  • The 121 (pdf 56KB) service runs from Rainham, Otterham Park, Darland, Gillingham, Medway Maritime Hospital to Chatham. There are four journeys a day Monday to Friday, and seven journeys on Saturday (Darland - Chatham only on Saturdays)
  • The 132 (pdf 71KB) Service runs half hourly on Sundays from Hempstead Valley to Chatham via Rainham, and Medway Maritime Hospital.
  • The 177 (pdf 77KB) service runs from Walderslade via Wayfield to Chatham to Gillingham St Marks' Church via the hospital every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday, and hourly on Sundays.
  • The 176 service also run from Walderslade to Lower Gillingham

Chalkwell

  • The 326/327 (pdf 57KB) service runs on an hourly basis Monday to Saturday.

Nu-venture

  • The 131 (pdf 56KB) service runs twice daily in each direction between Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham, Lower Rainham, Rainham and Twydall.

From February 5 - Luton Road/A2 Chatham Hill roadworks - delays to bus services

From 5 February for a period of up to 18 months major gas main replacement is being undertaken at the junction of A2 Chatham Hill, and Luton Road. Roadworks will then progress down Luton Road to Luton High Street in stages over the coming months. The works which are required to be undertaken by Southern Gas Networks by the Health and Safety Executive due ageing gas mains.

There will be traffic controlled signals which will monitored by the roadworks contractors every day from 0700 to 2100, but delays are expected on a number of services for the duration. Please allow extra time for your journey where possible.

Delays are expected on the following services:-

Chatham Hill Services 

  • 120 Chatham – Rainham – Otterham Park
  • 132 Chatham – Rainham – Hempstead Valley
  • 176 Walderslade – Weeds Wood – Maidstone Road – Chatham – Gillingham – Grange Road – Hazlemere Drive
  • 177 Walderslade – Weeds Wood – Luton – Chatham – Gillingham – Grange Road – Hazlemere Drive

Luton Road Services 

  • 113 Chatham – Hempstead Valley – Wigmore
  • 164 Chatham – White Road Estate
  • 166 Chatham – Lords Wood
  • 169 Chatham – Princes Park – Walderslade
  • 177 Walderslade – Weeds Wood – Luton – Chatham – Gillingham – Grange Road – Hazlemere Drive
  • 179 Chatham – Churchill Avenue – Walderslade

Connected Kent and Medway Smartcard
