New bus stop adjacent 30/32 St Williams Way Rochester

We are consulting on providing a new bus stop on the northbound section adjacent house number 32/30 and invite your feedback on the proposals.

It is intended to provide a bus stop sign on the existing lamp column SKE10 at this location. There are no other plans for work to take place. For information the bus service which runs past here is the 142 which runs hourly Monday to Friday from 0917 until 1757, and 2 hourly on Saturday.

Following the consultation any responses received will be considered by ward councillors and the portfolio holder before any decision is made.

New bus stop adjacent 88 St Williams Way Rochester

We are consulting on providing a new bus stop on the northbound section adjacent house number 88 and invite your feedback on the proposals.

This has arisen following discussion with the bus operator Nu-Venture and local ward councillors to improves access to the 142 bus service.

It is intended to provide a bus pier at the stop to help the bus pull up the kerb to allow users – especially those with mobility difficulties – to get on and off the bus with level access.  This has been designed to ensure the minimum possible impact on on-street parking provision, which is estimated to be one space. Parking will still be permitted next to the bus stop pier behind the clearway.

For information the bus service which runs past here is the 142 which runs hourly Monday to Friday from 0917 until 1757, and 2 hourly on Saturday. The stop will not have buses laying over, so buses will be stationery here for the absolute minimum amount of time.

New bus stop opposite 100 St Williams Way

We are consulting on providing a new bus stop on the southbound section opposite house number 100 and invite your feedback on the proposals.

This has arisen following discussion with the bus operator Nu-Venture and local ward councillors to improve accessibility to the 142 bus service.

It is intended to provide a raised bus kerb at the stop to help the bus pull up the kerb to allow users – especially those with mobility difficulties – to get on and off the bus with level access.  There will be no changes to the existing Single Yellow Line at this location.

For information the bus service which runs past here is the 142 which runs hourly Monday to Friday from 0733 until 1458, and 2 hourly on Saturday. The stop will not have buses laying over, so buses will be stationery here for the absolute minimum amount of time.

New bus stop opposite 35 Fleet Road Rochester

We are consulting on providing a new bus stop on the northbound section opposite house number 35 Fleet Road and invite your feedback on the proposals.

This has arisen following discussion with the bus operator Nu-Venture and local ward councillors to increase accessibility to the 142 bus service. The lack of a bus stop here has also been raised by a member of the public concerned that there is no stop in this direction on the 142 route between Wisdom Hospice and The Fairway.

It is intended to provide an area of hard standing footway a raised bus stop, bus stop pole and sign. To prevent parking at the bus stop a 13 metre long clearway will be installed where no parking or waiting is allowed.

Bus stop improvements - The Fairway Rochester

We are consulting on bus stop improvements in The Fairway and invite your feedback on the proposals.

This has arisen following discussion with the bus operator Nu-Venture and local ward councillors to increase accessibility to the 142 bus service. Also for the 145 that goes via The Fairway.

On the Chatham bound stop (shelter side) it is intended to provide a raised kerb to improve accessibility to buses. To prevent parking at the bus stop a 21 metre long clearway will be installed where no parking or waiting is allowed. It is proposed to have the clearway in operation from 9am to 6pm when bus services are at their highest frequency at this location.

On the Cookham Wood bound side opposite, an area of hard standing footway and raised kerb will be installed to enable bus users to board and alight safely. There are no changes to the existing clearway at this bus stop

It is intended to provide an area of hard standing and a raised bus kerb at  each stop to help the bus pull up the kerb to allow users – especially those with mobility difficulties – to get on and off the bus with level access.
