185

From Monday 27 March there will be changes to the 185 service. There will be amendments to times of the service running between Chatham Waterfront and Pattens Lane and Davis Estate.

Also from March 27 the 185 will no longer be running between Chatham Waterfront Bus Station and Asda at Gillingham Pier due to lack of usage.

During Monday to Friday daytimes the 185 service is operated commercially by Nu-Venture. It is supported by Medway Council in the early morning and evenings, and all day Saturday.

The new 185 timetable from March 27 can be downloaded.

Chatham Bus Station

Improvement works to upgrade the current crossing points at Chatham Waterfront Bus Station will start on 20 February 2017 (off peak between 7pm - 5am). The works will take approximately 3 weeks to complete. For the protection of the public and the workforce there will be some road closures and a diversion route in place.

There will temporary closures of:

  • Waterfront Way at the junction with Globe Lane/Medway Street
  • Medway Street at the junction with Globe Lane/Waterfront Way

The roads will not be closed at the same time, and a signed diversion will be in place whenever there are road closures. Please note that buses may operate from different stands while works are going on.
