MY School Bus Services

Medway Council offer a subsidised school bus service (the MY School bus) for students across Medway. Each white and blue double-decker bus, operated by ASD Coaches and driven by specially-trained regular drivers, is fitted with CCTV and seat belts. Seats are allocated for each student and must be booked in advance. View a list of MY services below.

MY Bus payment deadlines

Letters and emails will be sent out throughout the year near the end of each term for MY passes to be renewed for the following term. Please ensure that you make the payment for your child by the relevant deadline.

Please see this page for details of renewal dates and deadlines.

If the deadline is missed, places on the MY bus will be issued to any persons currently on the waiting list, so it is imperative that the payment is made on time.

Please call 01634 33 3455 to make payment. If lines are busy please leave a message and one of the admin staff will call back, and this will ensure that the place on the MY bus is retained.

Removal of 'Sweeper Service'

Unfortunately it is with regret that from September 2017 we will no longer be able to offer the 'sweeper service' which offers the option of a second bus pick-up from schools between 4.30pm and 5pm each evening.

From September 2017, there will be the morning service (as now) taking pupils to school, and an afternoon service which will run (as now) after the end of the school day when lessons have finished.

The reasons for the sweeper service ending are due to reductions in budget on the MY School bus service that the council has had to make in the difficult economic climate. Also, compared to the main service, the numbers travelling on the sweeper services are relatively small.

The MY service is heavily subsidised by Medway Council and compared to a ticket on an equivalent commercial bus service still represents good value for money.

The morning and afternoon times will remain unchanged. Timetables for the new school new year will be available in due course on this page.

Specific Information for Parents of children at The Howard School, Rainham

For parents of pupils attending The Howard School, Rainham The Howard School has changed its school times for 2017/18. As the MY2/MY3 buses which Howard School children are booked on also interworks and serves other schools we are unable to amend the timings on the MY2/3 bus.

Buses will arrive at the Howard School in the morning at 8.10am, and pick up at 3.35pm (MY2) and 3.45pm (MY3). The Howard School will be writing to all parents of the affected children to advise them that on Mondays the affected children can leave at 3.25 for MY2, and 3.35 for MY3. This is a transitional arrangement for this academic year only and that no students will be leaving early in 2018/19, so any Howard School parents who are looking to sign up for next year need to be aware of this.

If you have any queries regarding the change in school times please contact the Howard School.
