Medway Statement of Community Involvement

The council adopted a revised Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) in September 2014, which replaced the previous version from 2012.

The SCI sets out the methods by which the community and other stakeholders will be engaged in the preparation and review of Local Plan documents and planning applications.

Planning influences the development of towns and villages, and it is important that local people are effectively involved in helping to shape these plans. This is recognised by government and councils are required to consult on planning proposals and plans. Medway Council must produce a SCI outlining how and when it will involve people in the planning process.

The Medway Statement of Community Involvement 2014 (pdf, 2,175KB) is available to view online or can be inspected at the Council’s offices at Gun Wharf during normal office opening hours.
