Read our admission to primary school booklet below and our terms and conditions (pdf 14KB) before submitting your application.

Admission arrangements

Voluntary Controlled Church of England Schools may require you to complete a supplementary information form in addition to the Medway application. This form must be sent to the school by the closing date for applications. For more information, including which schools require this form, refer to the admissions booklet above.

Delaying the start of school

Reception is the year in which your child reaches compulsory school age.
If your child has a birthday that falls during Terms 5 and 6 (1 April - 31 August) you can request a delayed start for your child until the following academic year.

The request must be submitted in the September prior to when your child is due to start school, providing your reasons why they should be delayed from starting school and any supporting evidence, such as medical letters. All requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis and you will be notified of the decision as soon as possible.

Going from Infant to Junior school

If your child is in an infant school (four to seven-year-olds) at the end of Year 2 they should transfer to a junior school. Most Medway infant schools are paired with a junior school, which means that your child will have priority for a place, although you can opt for another junior school if you wish.

Your child could start a junior school in September 2016 if their birthday falls between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2009.
