Skills and Employability Plan

Skills and employment

Our Skills and Employability Plan is for all ages.

The plan will support anyone considering options for primary, secondary, further education and higher education.

It will engage those who are not in employment, education or training, as well as those looking to take up apprenticeships, train at work or return to the workforce.

Priority skills and employability areas

The plan sets out our skills and employability priority areas which are to:

Match business demand to skills supply - by bringing business and education closer together.

Develop Medway’s talent pool - by supporting the development of career advice in schools, the growth of higher and further education courses and Medway’s apprenticeship offer.

Establish routes to employmentby increasing awareness and uptake of training opportunities to young people and adults in Medway, and encouraging employers to leave no one behind.

Help young people get into education, employment or training - by supporting 16 and 17 year olds to make the best choices for their future.
