Teacher Taster Course - Black and Minority Ethnic BackgroundDo you have a degree or in the final year of a degree course? Interested in a career in teaching? The TDA and Medway Council are committed to a diverse workforce and therefore we are looking for graduates who are from under represented ethnic groups. This teacher taster course is designed to help you decide if teaching is the career for you. The course is specifically aimed at graduates, or people who are in the final year of a degree, from black and minority ethnic backgrounds that are under represented in the teaching profession. Tuesday 27 January 2008 - Corn Exchange, High Street, Rochester. Wednesday 28 January 2008 – All day in a Medway school. Thursday 29 January 2008 – Canterbury Christchurch University. To be eligible for this course you must meet certain criteria (see below), have a number from the TDA (0845 6000 991)and complete an application form. Their overall purpose is to help improve standards of teaching and the quality of learning in the public interest. They work for children, through teachers. The TDA (Training and Development Agency for Schools) work with schools to develop the workforce and ensure that schools can recruit good-quality, well-trained people. They support schools to provide extended services for parents, children and young people.
