Moving to Medway
The Teacher Recruitment Team (TRT) at Medway realise how difficult it is to relocate to a new area especially when the area is unknown. With this in mind the TRT hold an accommodation list. The properties and house shares on this list are from landlords who have contacted the TRT because they prefer teachers as tenants. None of the properties on the list have been vetted by us, it is purely a contact list but it may be a good place to start your search for accommodation. Please email teaching@medway.gov.uk to request a copy.
Obviously the area you choose will depend on the location of your school. The TRT can send details from local property papers for teachers living outside the area. We can also liaise with property agents on your behalf, arrange viewings and advise on the suitability of certain areas. Housing costs in Medway are often lower than other areas of the South East of England, however it will depend on the area you are looking in . As with all towns and cities some areas are more expensive than others.
Around £100m has already been invested in the regeneration of Medway and the benefits are already being felt by residents and visitors alike. Visit the Medway Council regeneration website for further details. The Daily Telegraph recommended Medway in their top 10 places to buy property. To read this article please select this text.
