General Election 8 June 2017

A general (Parliamentary) election will take place on Thursday 8 June. All registered electors will be eligible to vote except EU citizens. The formal Notice of Election that formally starts the election timetable was published on 8 May.

 

The deadline to stand as a candidate in the election has now passed.

Poll cards will start to be sent to eligible electors from Monday 8 May.

The deadlines to register to vote and to apply for a postal vote or cancel an existing postal vote have now passed.

Please note that Postal vote packs will be sent to existing postal voters around 19 May to addresses outside the UK and on 26 May to addresses within the UK. Anyone who applied for a postal vote after 8 May will have their postal vote pack sent  from 1 June. If you think you may not be around to return your postal vote pack before the close of poll at 10pm on 8 June, you may wish to appoint a proxy to vote on your behalf instead.
