Term programme

Museum hands-on sessions are mostly designed for half a class at a time, giving the other half a chance to look around the museum displays. Visits generally last around 90 minutes, although this is flexible.
All sessions are strongly object-led and are sometimes supported by historic photographs and maps. Open discussion encourages children to take a lead in asking questions and making deductions.
All activities are free. Most sessions are adapatable for any age or ability: the list below is a just a guide.

Outreach (available only within the Medway Council area)
This in-school programme is also available:
  • for Medway-funded schools: £100 per half day (longer periods negotiable);
  • for Medway schools not funded by the Local Authority: £150 per half day.
