Buses to Chatham Maritime

Several companies operate services to Chatham Maritime, providing access to:

Please note that all of the services travelling to Chatham Maritime will depart from Platform B 11 at Chatham Waterfront  bus station.

These services are as follows:

Arriva

  • The 140/141 services offer a 10-minute frequency on the route to and from Chatham Maritime. The route continues through Chatham town centre to Rochester and Strood.
  • The 116 service offers a 20 minute frequency on the route to and from Chatham Maritime, and goes via Mid Kent College, and through the University campus. The route continues through Gillingham to Hempstead Valley.
  • The 100 service (Island Hopper) runs approximately every 30 minutes during the day from Monday to Friday from St Mary's Island to Chatham rail station.
  • The 151 service runs in the evening from Chatham Maritime to Chatham town centre, through to Rochester, Strood, Medway Valley Park, Cuxton, Halling and on to West Malling.
  • Service 196 buses go from Chatham, via Chatham Maritime to Hoo on four journeys per day.

Discounts for Universities at Medway students and staff

Students and staff at the Universities at Medway can purchase season tickets for bus travel in Arriva's Universities at Medway logoSouth East zone. Students can get unlimited travel in the south east for just £25 for four weeks, and £125 for an academic year.

Tickets are available ONLY to students and staff attending the Medway Campuses of the University of Greenwich, University of Kent, and Canterbury Christ Church University. The ticket must be purchased online and with the promotional code available from UMSA at Universities at Medway.

Nu-Venture

  • The 170 service runs hourly on the route to and from Chatham Maritime Monday to Saturday with a two hourly service on Sundays. The route continues to Medway Gate via Medway City Estate.
  • The 174/5 service offers an hourly service Monday to Friday on the route to and from Chatham Maritime. The route continues to Strood via Medway City Estate.

Kings Ferry Dockside Shuttle Bus

Kings Ferry operates a shuttle bus every 20 minutes from Chatham railway station via Chatham town centre (Military Road) to the Dockside Factory Outlet Shopping Centre at Chatham Maritime, via Dock Road. The service also passes the Universities at Medway campus. The service runs from 6am (7.30am Saturdays) until 10.30pm weekdays, with two early morning journeys on Sundays. There is a flat fare of £1.50. Pay once then passengers can ride all day on the route.
