Service changes 101/113/114/182 due to roadworks in Gillingham
Road
Due to gas works Gillingham Road, Gillingham will become
one way from Livingstone Circus towards
Duncan Road/Nelson Road from Wednesday, 25
April for four weeks.
During these works the
101/113/114/182 services
towards Twydall/Rainham direction will run via Franklin Road
to Livingstone Circus.
Along the section of the route affected
bus stops will be closed and temporary ones will be
located in Franklin Road and near Livingstone Circus.
Please expected delays in the area for the
duration of these works.
Changes to Nu Venture 130/131 services
From Monday, 26 March a revised timetable is
being introduced for the 130/131 service. The 130 service links
between Twydall and Maidstone via Hempstead Valley. The
131 has a slightly different route from Medway Hospital
to Maidstone.
As part of the new timetable changes, the 131 only will be
taking an amended route via Berengrave Lane, and Childscroft
Road, (instead of Lower Rainham Road and Station Road). There are
new bus stops in Berengrave Lane and Childscroft Road.
Also, at the request of Nu-venture, which operates the service,
new bus stops have also been installed in Wigmore Road,
Wigmore.
Please download the new 130/131
timetable. (738KB pdf)
To use these files you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader.
If you do not have it on your computer, please use our advice page.
All other services are unaffected.

Bus routes in Medway and Kent
For information on all routes in Medway and Kent, and to
download a map showing all of the routes please visit the
Public Transport maps page of KCC's website. Please click on
"Kent and Medway map".
The following links also show the town centre bus stop locations
and where you need to pick up buses to various destinations:
Bus times to your mobile phone
Traveline now provides information about bus services as a text
message to your mobile phone. Simply text
84268* with the unique code shown on the bus stop
flag, and details on the next scheduled services will be sent to
the phone. Please download the bus times to
mobile poster (pdf 479KB) for information.
* texts cost 25pence plus operators' standard rate.
Prices
For more information on services, please contact the individual
operators or Traveline on 0871 200 2233. (Calls
from BT landlines cost 10pence per minute plus a 6pence set-up fee
per call. Mobile, business and other providers' charges may vary).
Information on journey planning is also available at
Traveline's plan a journey page or Transport Direct's plan a
door-to-door journey page.
Timetables at bus stops
If there are no timetable details at a bus stop or the
information is incorrect or out of date, please phone Customer First who will
inform the Public Transport Team. Normally, Arriva and the other
bus companies are contacted and they aim to restore the information
as soon as possible.
If your bus does not turn up
If it is a subsidised bus service (shown as "M" above), you
should contact Customer First. If it is not a subsidised bus
service, you should speak to the bus company
directly.
Roadworks
If roadworks involve the closure of a road and the diversion of
a bus service, information will be displayed at the bus stop and on
this page. For more information, go to general roadworks page. Some bus stops also have
electronic displays which display the approximate arrival time of
the next bus and any other important messages affecting that
particular service.
Requests for extra services or timetable changes
The vast majority of bus services are provided by bus operators
on a commercial basis, so extra bus services or changes to
timetables are normally only considered if there is sufficient
demand. Please contact the bus companies directly.
Medway Council can make representations to the bus companies if
there is justification for an extra service. To suggest where an
extra service may be needed, please use the contact details below.
Alternatively, if an extra service is needed which is not being
provided by the operators, Medway Council can support a bus service
on a non-commercial basis. However, any service has to be
considered within the budgetary constraints of the council.
