Park and Stride
We recognise that sometimes students live beyond a
reasonable walking distance from their school and it is not always
possible to walk the whole distance. Sometimes even the most
regular walkers need to utilise a car for journeys, especially
when travelling elsewhere (such as to a friend, relative or
club) after school.
If you are faced with this predicament why not try our 'park and
stride' scheme - which is simply, parking a short distance away
from the school (usually in a designated area) and then walking the
rest of the journey. This provides an ideal opportunity to still
get some fresh air, a spot of exercise and increase roadside
experience for younger pedestrians. Furthermore it clears busy
school roads from the congestion of cars and makes a much nicer
safer walking environment for all. Want to give it a go?
