Signs of Youth design activity for Earth Day
In celebration of Earth Day in April 2025, we relaunched Signs of Youth.
We invited children and young people of all ages and creative abilities to submit a drawing that could be turned into an aluminium sign and displayed permanently somewhere in Medway.
The drawings were based around our Child-friendly Medway core value 'cleaner and greener' and based around one of our 6 key environmental themes:
- littering
- dog fouling
- recycling
- car idling
- plant more flowers and trees
- take care of the wildlife.
Who took part
Hundreds of children and young people submitted drawings. These came from:
- schools
- home-schooled children
- youth groups
- scout groups.
Submissions closed on 31 August 2025.
Shortlisted designs will be selected by the Child-friendly Medway team. They’ll then be made into aluminium signs and installed in various locations across Medway.
