Chatham Town Centre - Shop Furniture Review Consultation 2017
In 2016 Medway Council launched a 12 month street licencing pilot scheme. This pilot was launched following concerns raised by members of the public and traders about safety and the general appearance of Chatham High Street due to the use of shop furniture*
*Shop furniture are items placed outside the traders premises on the pavement and includes tables, chairs, advertising boards and A frames, banners, product displays, floor standing flag poles etc.
The ‘Placing Objects on the Highway’ pilot scheme has now been in operation for a year. In order to understand the impact of the pilot scheme, if it has made any difference to the appearance of Chatham High Street, the safety of pedestrians or any other issues that have arisen, Medway Council would like to hear your views on the proposed policy.
The survey will run from Wednesday 27 September 2017 until 5pm Friday 27 October 2017
