The community respiratory team are advanced nurses, physiotherapists and dietitians whose skills provide comprehensive respiratory assessments to patients at home in Medway and Swale with the lung conditions:
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD),
- interstitial lung diseases
We can use a range of treatments to help you to better manage your lung condition and to monitor the progression of lung disease.
We are able to offer you medication reviews, oxygen assessments, dietetic assessments and pulmonary rehabilitation.
Using expert knowledge, we aim to ensure your treatment is optimised and in accordance with national guidelines.
If you think we could help you please contact your GP or healthcare professional and ask them to carry out Spirometry (a quick and painless test which measures how well you can breathe) to be certain you will benefit from a referral to our team.
We are able to offer routine and urgent home visits, the frequency of which are determined by your clinical need.

Regular oxygen clinics are run at Medway Maritime Hospital, Parkwood Healthy Living Centre and Sheppey Community Hospital
