In partnership with The Climate Coalition, we're putting on the first Electric Vehicle (EV) Event in Medway at the Rochester Castle Gardens between 11am and 3pm on Saturday 25 September 2021.

The event will be an opportunity to highlight some of the progress being made in Medway to encourage the transition to zero-emission vehicles.

It will also serve as an opportunity to build confidence within the growing EV market, by allowing industry experts and professionals to engage with the public around new and emerging technologies and infrastructure.

We have invited a number of car dealerships and firms from the local area, including:

  • The JCB Group
  • Motorline
  • WJ King
  • Beadles
  • TrustFord
  • Stoner Motor Company
  • Synter Group
  • EVision (based on the Medway City Estate).

Our chosen EV charging point supplier, Connected Kerb, will also be there to showcase its charging infrastructure and provide information to the public. We're also excited to welcome Martin Offiah, a former professional rugby union and rugby league player, who is Connected Kerb’s brand ambassador and keen advocate for the transition to EVs.

This event will coincide with the Great Big Green Week campaign, which takes place between the 18 September and 26 September 2021. The campaign will see thousands of events scheduled nationally during the focus week to celebrate how communities are taking action to:

  • tackle climate change
  • protect green spaces
  • encourage others to get involved too.

The event also supports our recently adopted Climate Change Action Plan, including our ambitions towards net zero emissions and the promotion of sustainable transport.
