Our Tree Strategy
We're developing a new Tree Strategy to guide how trees and green infrastructure are planted, protected, and enhanced for years to come.
The Tree Strategy will set out a clear, long-term vision for tree planting, management and protection across Medway.
Trees play a vital role in shaping our environment and identity. This includes:
- supporting biodiversity
- improving air quality
- strengthening climate resilience
- contributing to health and wellbeing
- creating an attractive and sustainable place to live, work, and visit.
What the strategy could include
The strategy may consider topics such as:
- tree planting
- protecting existing trees and woodland
- climate resilience and biodiversity
- trees in streets and public spaces
- importance of trees in planning and development
- community involvement and education.
