Medway Council waste Call for Sites 2020
The new Medway Local Plan will include provision for the development needs for waste and minerals. In line with national policy, the new Medway Local Plan will meet the
identified waste needs of the area, in terms of the number of facilities we need to treat the different types and amounts of waste produced.
Medway Council is issuing a focused Call for Sites for potential sites for waste management
facilities. The results of the exercise will be used as part of the evidence base for the new Local Plan.
This Call for Sites exercise will run from 10 January 2020 to 5pm on 21 February 2020.
The exercise is to determine if there are any potential waste processing sites in Medway that people would like to promote to the Council.
By promoting sites to the Council it does not mean they will gain planning permission or become allocations in the new Local Plan. Any proposed sites will need to be tested first through the Local Plan process against a range of criteria. The purpose of this Call for Sites is to understand if and where there is potential land available.
To promote a site for future waste use, complete the pro-forma. If you are
promoting more than one site please use a separate form each time.
If you would like to discuss this further you can contact the Planning Policy Team on 01634 331 629 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
