Watch a message from The Medway Independent Reviewing Officers to Medway's children and young people:
Some schools across Medway welcomed pupils back to school from 1 June.
In line with government advice, pupils in reception, year 1 and year 6 returned to the classroom. Schools have been in direct contact with parents of pupils in reception, year 1 and year 6 regarding arrangements for their child’s return to school.
Secondary school pupils in years 10 and 12 can return to the classroom from Monday 15 June.
We will continue to work with schools and follow the latest advice and guidance to ensure as many pupils as possible can go back to school safely, whilst ensuring measures are in place to protect both children and staff.
You can find out more information about the wider reopening of schools on GOV.UK.

Face coverings on public transport
From 15 June your child will need to wear a face covering when they travel on public transport, including MY Buses.
This is in line with government guidance announced on 4 June to reduce the spread of coronavirus while travelling on public transport.
Along with our MY Bus contractor, ASD Coaches, we will only allow those wearing a face covering to travel. If your child is refused travel as they do not have a face covering, you will not be offered a refund.
For details on school bus services, visit the bus provider’s website.
Free school meals
All children who are eligible will be able to get free school meals.
Schools have been working closely with their caterers or MCG to ensure provision is maintained.
Contact your child’s school to find out arrangements.
