New School Streets
In July 2025 we advised we'll be implementing new School Streets to help:
- reduce congestion
- make the roads outside schools safer at pick-up and drop-off times
- encourage families to walk, wheel or cycle to school.
Date to be decided
St William of Perth Roman Catholic Primary School, Rochester
- Street: Canon Close
- Operational times: 8am to 9am, and 3pm to 4pm
To support this school street we'll implement additional safety measures along Maidstone Road. Feedback from the statutory consultation suggested that operating times should be from 2.30pm to 3.30pm in the afternoon. To accommodate this, we'll be updating the Traffic Regulation Order before the School Street is implemented.
More information about the St William of Perth Roman Catholic Primary School - School Street Plan will be published soon.

What this means for you
Enforcement of School Streets will begin on the operational dates.
Any vehicles that enter a School Street without an exemption during operating times, may receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).
If you're eligible, you can apply for an exemption, which will allow you to drive and park within a School Street location during operating times.
