Parish councils

Medway has 11 parishes covering the rural areas on the Hoo Peninsula and the upper reaches of the River Medway.

These all have a parish council, which has limited powers but provide and maintain services such as recreation grounds, village greens, bus shelters, public toilets and allotments.

Parish council elections take place every four years at the same time as local elections for Medway Council.
