Innovation Park Medway masterplan
Medway Council and Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council consulted on a draft masterplan for Innovation Park Medway from 17 September to 29 October 2018.
This was subsequently adopted by Medway Council for planning purposes on 5 March 2019 and Tonbridge & Malling for economic development purposes on 19 March 2019. Both adoptions are subject to Highways England comment.
The Innovation Park Medway masterplan reviews and refreshes the 2014 Rochester Airport masterplan.
The plan's ambition
The main aims are to:
- strengthen the performance of the local economy
- create jobs to secure growth and prosperity
- realise the area’s potential whilst ensuring the long term operating future of Rochester Airport.
The masterplan document provides a vision and guidance for the consideration of development proposals. As a Supplementary Planning Document, it also provides guidance to potential developers.
The masterplan itself is not a planning application but it is expected that future development will follow the guidance in the masterplan.
How we used your consultation comments
We ran a consultation to get your comment on the design principles in the draft masterplan from Monday 17 September until Monday 29 October 2018.
We used your comments to refine the draft masterplan where appropriate.
